Our Latest Arrivals

Settler's has had quite a few additions to our already large family. We have acquired a baby camel named Bonnie. Bonnie is from Oklahoma and was orphaned. Jingles, one of our kangaroos who was paralyzed, gets hydrotherapy four to five times a week and has a K-9 cart that is modified to fit him. He gets around very well. We have a baby Marmoset Monkey, LuLu, who had to have her big backtoes removed. She also gets around just fine and happily is living out her life at The Pond. We've also acquired a marbled Artic Fox that we call Farrah the Foxet.

For those who have been here before, we still have your old time favorites, including Clyde, Sarge and all the rest of the critters waiting to see you again for this fall season. We are home to  two Ring-tailed Lemurs, nine banded Armadillos, an Anteater, two Armadillos, three Horses, a Bird, a Rabbit, a Pony, three Sugar Gliders, two Two-Toed Sloths, and several Pot Bellied Pigs.

Chloe the Kinkajou has settling in nicely at the Pond. She was abused at one time, but Chloe is a permanent, protected resident at Settler's Pond and has inspired Pinky's latest children's book, Chloe, The Kinkajou Finds a Home. Chloe is doing great.  To keep her attention we have placed a couple of trees in her habitat with marshmallows, kiwis and grapes on the branches. It is really fun watching her forage for it and it keeps her thinking. Be sure to check in on Chloe on your next visit.

Jack, our Red Kangaroo, arrived here quite ill at seven weeks old. He is now thriving and healthy. He is a real cutie. He is now full grown and the mascot for the Chicago Black Hawks.

Stripes, our Zebra, adjusted very well to his home here. Gypsy, our pony is still on site for your visit!

We have four Pandagonian Cavey's and a Wallaby girl.  Also calling the Pond home are two Degus and five hairless squirrels. All are doing great. A Florida zoo added two full-grown red Kangaroos to the Pond's residents.

Pinky feels truly blessed that the Lord has put her into this place at this time in her life. All involved with Settler's Pond deem it an honor to be able to help all of these animals.
